THE LX-200 (10") BASIC SADDLE

      The Kit includes hardware to directly attach the SADDLE to the existing Dec.AXIS after the OTA is removed. The SADDLE is self aligning and adjustable for  DEC offset, ( to keep DEC balance ) accommodating a large variety of OTA's and Guide scopes, either in a OVER-UNDER or STACK configuration, using Parallax Rings with the Guide Scope mounted on top. OTA removal requires a minimal disruption to the DEC system, only  the  NON-DRIVE FORK  need be loosened ( after suitable location marks are added ) and only just enough to allow the OTA to slip by. This is usually only about 1/4 to 3/8". No holes or other modifications are required to the LX-200 system, and No Major Realignment is needed.
 

      OTA mounting methodology is up to the individual. Losmandy Dovetail plates and clamp sets can be used.  Also depending on the Telescope combinations, Parallax Ring Sets or mounting rings provided by Telescope  manufactures can be used.
   The above idea's were originally presented as a commercial product, but are freely given for any one to use. It is hoped that if time permits a more detailed article can be put together on the construction of these saddles.
