Sci-Ed Fact: Scientists have identified more than 300 substances that may inhibit angiogenesis in cancerous tumors by destroying newly formed capillaries or preventing their formation. As a result, the tumors may stop growing, shrink or, in some cases, disappear altoghether... 20 of these have already entered clinical trials in humans. (Time Mag., May 18, '98)
