ZipLink FAQs
- Q. How often does ZipLink make backups, and how can I get backups of
files that have accidentally been deleted?
A. System backups are made daily, including all files in customer directories.
To get copies of your files from backup tapes, send your request to custom@ziplink.net.
Be as specific as possible regarding file names and directories that you
need and when it was lost.
- Q.What are the Name or IP addresses of Ziplink's servers.?
A. Domain name: ziplink.net
IP Address: PPP is 0.0.0.0
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Nameservers: /206.15.168.65/ 206.15.168.69/
Mail (SMTP) Server: smtp.ziplink.net POP3 Server: pop3.ziplink.net

- Q. What is a shell account and why would I want to use one?
A shell account is a UNIX command line-based account on one of our server
machines. You use your PC simply to make a connection to ZipLink; no software
applications run on your machine.
Using a shell account requires some knowledge of the UNIX operating system
and its Internet access tools and utilities. It's not for the faint-hearted:
commands like "cat" for a directory listing don't relate to the
more mnemonic DOS command line.
- Q. Where can I get more help on E-mail, FTP and my other questions?
A. For more questions and answers go to Ziplink's Support Center
FAQ page.
- Q. Where can I find out more about your company?
A. You can find out more about Ziplink by going to our
About ZipLink page.
