Configuring News Clients for Username/Password Authentication

Configuring Forte Agent and Forte Free Agent for Username/Password Authentication*

Do not make these changes before Tuesday, April 27

1. Click on Options, then on Preferences.
2. Under the User Profile tab, put a check in "Server requires authorization login" checkbox.
3. Enter your hostname in the "Username" field, put a check in "Remember Password between sessions" checkbox.
4. Enter your password in "Password" field.
5. Click OK.

*These instructions assume that Agent/Free Agent has already been properly configured to access our usenet server (news2.ziplink.net) without username/password authentication. If you need assistance with basic news client configuration information, that can be found within Ziplink's News FAQ.
