Configuring News Clients for Username/Password Authentication

Configuring Newswatcher for Username/Password Authentication*

Do not make these changes before Tuesday, April 27

1. From within Newswatcher, go to the "File" menu and select "Preferences..."
2. The "Newswatcher Preferences" window will appear. Click and hold down the mouse button on the "Topic:" box--the box will expand to show you other options to choose from.
3. Choose "Authentication" from this list.
4. In the box titled "Username:", enter your ppp login name. In the box titled "Password:" enter your password.
5. Click the box next to "Save Password".
6. Click the circle next to "Always Authenticate".
7. Click "OK" at the bottom.
