Configuring News Clients for Username/Password Authentication

Configuring Netscape Communicator for Username/Password Authentication*

Do not make these changes before Tuesday, April 27

1. From Netscape's browser window, select "Edit" and then select "Preferences" from the drop-down menu.
2. Expand "Mail and Newsgroups" by clicking on the adjacent plus sign.
3. Select "Newsgroup Server", and then highlight news2.ziplink.net.
4. Click the "Edit" button.
5. Select "Always ask me for my username and password".
6. Click "OK", and then click "OK" again.

*These instructions assume that Netscape Communicator has already been properly configured to access our usenet server (news2.ziplink.net) without username/password authentication. If you need assistance with basic news client configuration information, that can be found within Ziplink's News FAQ
