The Model 100 radar was the first PC-computer-controlled real-time processing radar ever built. Since 1985, it has been delivered in a variety of models, including:
- A 150-MHz - 18 GHz indoor range radar built for an experimental compact range at Boeing. This radar provided real-time ISAR imaging using an on-line MicroVAX computer.
- A truck-portable X-Band version built for DARPA that was used to evaluate radar angels associated with petroleum fields.
- A Pulsed-Delta-K version that was used for detecting internal waves in a major experiment conducted on the Sognefjord in Norway and for DARPA-sponsored Non-Cooperative Target Recognition tests.
AIRSAR, which was used to generate in-flight diagnostic images of aircraft, including the B-2..

METRATEK owns the AIRSAR Model 100 and it is available to support measurements in both airborne and ground-based applications. Over the years, the Model 100 and 200 radars have gradually grown together and at the present time, both can share various RF modules and operate with the same software.

This photo of the A-3 tail shows the ``flying saucer" dome that contains the rotating log-periodic dipole array and nacelle atop tail for the microwave antennas. Clear plastic is used to permit bore sight TV's to be used for tracking the target so that the higher resolution of spotlight SAR can be used.
