 Model 300 Radar

The Model 300 radar is a ground-to-air dynamic imaging radar that was built for the Chesapeake Test Range at the Naval Air Warfare Center, Patuxent River, MD. The radar is being used for dynamic imaging of Navy aircraft and helicopters, and can be used to image surface ships as well.

The Model 300 consists of a core module that can automatically switch pulse-to-pulse between up to 8 antenna mounts. The Model 300's unique Time Slice Architecture (TSA) permits the operator to select up to 256,000 different  combinations of antennas, RF bands, frequency, polarization, and waveforms per second. This pulse-to-pulse switching  allows waveforms at different frequency bands to be interleaved so that all necessary radar cross section measurements can be accomplished on a single target flight.

Up to four different real-time processing displays can simultaneously monitor four channels or provide different types of processing on the same channels.
