President
In 1979 Theodore P. Burbank founded the first brokerage office in Central New England to specialize in the valuation and sale of smaller private and family businesses. Since then, he has participated in the valuation and/or sale of more than 2,000 companies. Revenues of the companies served have ranged from $100,000.00 to $32,000,000.00
A pioneer in the practice of business sales and valuation, Ted is recognized nationally as an authority on the subjects. He is contributing author of "Handbook of Business Valuations" and "Valuation and Sale of Small and Mid-size Companies", both published by John Wiley & Sons as well as numerous articles on subjects surrounding business transfers.
His newest works, "In and Out of Business...Happily" (how to create the highest value for a business) and "VALUware" (interactive software to determine and track a business's value) are published by Parker-Nelson Publishing. He has conducted seminars for numerous colleges and trade groups in this country and Canada on business transfer and valuation issues.
Prior to founding the Burbank Group in Shrewsbury, MA, Ted owned several businesses and had established himself as a major producer in the insurance industry

David C. Philippi, CBI
Managing Director
With over 30 years of business experience, fifteen of which with Fortune 200 companies, David brings to The Burbank Group a broad understanding of the problems and opportuinities facing today's business owners. As the founder and president of a company devoted to serving the needs of privately held companies, he has established himself as professional in dealing with matters of acquisition and divestiture. Able to define and solve problems related to small and mid-sized business, he has proven his ability to get the job done while keeping the needs of his clients foremost in his mind.
David has attended SUNY at Plattsburgh, the University of Connecticut, and the University of Maryland with a concentration in business. He has been awarded the Certified Business Intermediary designation (CBI) and is Vice President and Treasusrer of The Association of New England Business Brokers. He has lecturered at several colleges regarding business transfers and has taught courses in Business Ethics. He is a Hot Air Balloon enthusiast and Executive Director of The Lighter Than Air Fund, Inc., a non-profit corporation chartered to aid children with life threatening diseases.
