When a user dials into one of our local phone numbers it will allow them to enter our network, when this happens a request will be generated to make sure that this user is your customer, and that you want to allow this customer access. This is the process known as authentication. Our authentication server will send this inquiry to your radius server and only after an acknowdgement has been made will we allow this user access. Requests for authentication and Traffic will be passed to you over a connection between our network and you.
This process is what is used for monitoring of all your traffic on our network. This process is also completely transparent to the end user. This processed is used to measure your usage and determine billing. So How Do we Count Users? WorldNET's program is unique. You pay only for those users who log in and authenticate through WorldNET's dial-up program during a given month. If a user logs in for 5 minutes or every day all day long, at the end of the billing cycle that user is counted as one user. As it's typical to see as much as 15% of an ISP's member base not using their accounts during any particular month, this can provide substantial savings when compared to other programs.
Your ResponsibilitiesProvide an Authentication Server
If you do not have a radius server, WorldNet can provide you with a radius service as part of our Virtual Internet Service provider, or VISP package.
