| Construction images are everywhere on the Web ... but are they necessary? |

Usually not. If a Web page is maintained and updated on a regular basis, it must be "under construction" all the time. However, there are exceptions to any rule. |
| For example, if you pull a page offline to make extensive changes, there's no harm in replacing it with a "construction" page alerting visitors that the regular page will be back soon. | ![]() |
