PRESS (Checks payable to Revelatory Press or to David Basch Return to Home Page It has been learned that the above portrait etching from the 1623 Folio of the plays of William Shakespeare is falsified. It has been proven by scholars through overlays that the eye portion of the portrait was taken from a known etching of Queen Elizabeth, indicating that the etching is a composite and not an original drawing of the Poet. This points out one of the many irregularities in the historical record concerning the Poet that must eventually be taken into account, as has begun to be undertaken in the Revelatory Press book series.
