Letters Against Congressman Barney Frank Coming to Digital
What you will find below are 9 letters that were against Barney Frank coming to DIGITAL. Most are from the Christian far Right community. They make very interesting reading while offering some great insight to why diversity work is still needed at DIGITAL. We can't fool ourselves into thinking we are well off as long as things like these letters surface. But on the upside, 9 letters is a pretty small amount with a company of 55+K employees
I did remove the names of the people who sent the letters as I don't think the individual is as important as the message, nor did I fix any spelling errors. So without further adu....
I don't know how to write this without sounding anti-something. But I think having a public figure come to Digital and make a speech supporting and celebrating the homosexual and lesbian agenda is inappropriate in a business environment. Equal rights does not include aggressive promotion of a believe system.
We have always tried to keep the workplace free of the pressure of religious or political arm twisting or intimidation. no matter how subtle. Gay pride is a political action thing with a religious fervor for missionary work.
From all your up beat positioning of this I'm sure you won't agree with me. I just want you to know that as far has I am concerned you just crossed the line of appropriate business behavior.
Digial use to a family company, but the active support of a homosexual life style contributes of the breakdown of family. very disappointed.
My belief is very simple. Sex is not a good thing but as a multi-demintional gift from God, it is a holy thing. The multi-demintions include not only the pleasure but bonding and procreation. Just like any gift if you only use a protion of the gift you are misusing it. So, if I have sex outside of my marriage, God is offended. If I have sex with my wife and use artifical means to stop conception, God is offended. Both of these are therefor what I called deviant behavior.
So to fully enjoy God's gift, we need to be able to experience all it deminsions. So for me, compansion is not tolerance (tolerance is mis-guided compansion) but trying to find a way for all people to partake in all deminsions of God's gifts is true compansion.
People who are homosexual should be treated with great compasion, since their lives can never be a complete as others (ie can not concieve children, enjoy marriage...). This is a very difficult live long cross to carry and they bear no guilt for their feelings since they can not control their feelings. However, all people can control thoughts and actions and all people will be held accountable to God for their actions. To God, (whose view is the only one that counts - not yours, mine or political junk), beening with someone of the same sex as you would one of the opposite sex, is an abomination. So their life will never have Christ's peace in it where such action is intentionally practiced. So chasity is the only acceptable life style. I know how hard this is since I was 30 before I married and worked a being chase the time prior. It takes more than will power, it takes grace from God.
I am not open to change my faith on this so unless you are open to change your view and/or faith, we don't need to discuss this further. If you open to change either or both I would be delighted to continue. I can send you many writing (much better expressed than I could) or answer any further questions.
You asked a few question that I thought were off subjest a bit so I did not answer them, but I will now.
Hope you find your way to God
I am very disappointed in the decision by DIGITAL to extend these benefits. Families are composed of male+female and offspring. Changing the definition of a family is acadamic, and breaks down in the long run. Statistics show every major society in history that has embraced this concept has crumbled.
I do not endorse or support DIGITAL in this decision. The politically correct applause received will be short lived, the adverse results will be long reaching. I am a committed employee that feels deep remorse in this decision.
