On May 29th, 1997, Human Resources met with DECplus members to inform us on if we had Domestic Partner Benefits or not. The tension was there as we all were hoping for the best. HR representatives were Russ Johnson, Carol Leger and Jose Ramirez. Russ got up to speak and we were on the edge of our seats. Then he made the announcement.... WE GOT 'EM!

The cheers that were coming out of the room once the announcement was made were incredible! So many happy people! Thanks to DIGITAL, we now can cover our same sex AND oppisite sex couples! It is a fine day in the DIGITAL history.

It has been a 10 year fight which has ended in victory for all! Those who worked the hardest on this were Carol duBoise, Joel Goldtien, Sid Ferrales and Ron Glover.
