Janary 6, 1999 update
Not much to report, I got home so late yesterday didn't have a chance to email out anything last night or rather this morning. Just stopped off at home to pick up a change of clothes, supposed to snow again tonight, maybe it will actually happen this time.
Su was pretty lethargic yesterday, didn't want to play at all with the PT or OT staff. Slept through most of my visit though she did wake up enough to reach out for my hand and hold it for a bit before she drifted off again. Think she just wore herself out thrashing about and having her arm stretched really takes a lot out of her. They put her in foot splints (sort of like big padded moon boots) to correct her foot drop, only 5 degrees thanks to the Sentra staff (could have been much worse if they hadn't had her wear sneakers all the time) but the PT staff wants it corrected so that they can move her to standing when she is ready.
I fell asleep in the bedside chair while reading to her and the nurse just let me sleep for about 2 hours. I felt like a pretzel after being outdoors all day yesterday then sleeping in a chair but it made up for getting there late yesterday, sometimes just having quiet time together is what she needs; to know that someone is there with her in the room makes things a little better for her.
The State Trooper who did the accident investigation called to check on her status which I thought was nice.
