why should the ngg choose me for their new valentine?
is it because i'm handsome and i'm tall?
no, it's because i'd offer you this gentle heart of mine
which i would show in ways both great and small

we could stroll twilight beaches, or go shopping if you like
i'd sip champagne from your doc martin shoes
you could talk to me for hours or go ride my motorbike
i'd never ever let you get the blues

but i know each nasty girlie is special and unique
wanting things for her and her alone
here are the things i'd give each one (i'll let you take a peek)
so i can make my true affections known:

for gaye a pint of single-malt (or so i've heard she likes)
from helynne i'm still waiting for a sign
for jill i'd spend a solid month in shoes with six-inch spikes
so i can bring my outlook into line

for robyn, lots of tasty m&m's that she adores
or leather that she can covertly sniff
for windy sue some brand-new docs for her petite size 4's
(and hopes that she won't boot me off a cliff)

irresistible emma would receive five well-tanned hunks
massaging her blonde tresses at her will
for jacqueline i would provide some moto luggage chunks
so motorcycle tours would be a thrill

to shirley, leader of the ngg, would be given
a retro-triumph, masculine and bold
louise i would take out to a nice bistro at seven
for she can't wait till eight (so i am told)


cindi, the songwriter, i'd accord alliteration,
then buff and polish her chrome-plated heart
i'd send julie lingerie like her imagination
(i hear chain mail's a good place to start)

some interesting motorbikes for beth (some new, some not)
it's ok if they need a little work
su, hilary and i could take tea in her favorite spot
and i'd enjoy her foo-foo chapeau quirk

i'd take maxine on another NGO excursion
so foreign folks could lose and she could win
for every nasty girlie, there is my humble submission
and on these heartfelt gifts my hopes i'll pin

a guy would sure be lucky if to him you took a shine
and he would be the valentine you choose
and i could sure appreciate and really get behind
a bunch of cool and classy girls like youse
