DIDIER ROUSSELET

Didier Rousselet in"L'Amour Mediecin --1998 production.

Actor, Director, and PhD. in Theatrical Studies, Didier Rousselet
worked with Ariane Minouchkine (Theatre du Soleil) Jacques Lassalle,
and Jacques LeCoq before leaving Paris over twelve years ago.
He participated in theatrical experiments conducted in France by
Billedsoftheater (Denmark) and Pupi E Fressede (Italy).

In the United States, Didier wrote the script of "For J.B." -- a show
by the choreographer Blondell Cummings with original score by Lester Bowie.
Didier Roussellet performed in "For J.B."as well.

Along with Monica Neagoy, he directed Jean Paul Sartre's "No Exit"
for the "Theatrical Outfit" in Atlanta, Georgia.

In 1987, Didier Rousselet founded Le Neon French-American
Theatre Company. He has since directed or co-directed all the productions and has performed in many of them. Didier, Monica Neagoy, and Susan Haedicke (dramaturg) received a Helen Hayes nomination for "Outstanding New Play" in 1996
for their adaptation of Victor Hugo's "The Man Who Laughs."

Co-Artistic Director: Dr. Monica Neagoy took up this post in 1992 after having served as Dramaturg for LE NEON for four years. In addition to co-directing many shows, including "A Simple Heart," "No Exit," "The Man Who Laughs," "Salome," "Jules and Jim," and the 1998-9 production of "Fascinating French Feast," Monica has performed in many LE NEON shows.

During the 1997-98 season Monica was seen in the role of Kate in "Jules and Jim," and as Salome in the LE NEON adaptation of Oscar Wilde's "Salome."

In addition to her theatre work, Monica is a professor and national consultant in mathematics, and combines her love of the arts and sciences in the creation of innovative educational videos and the teaching of mathematics on the national Annenberg Channel.
