The central theme of these stories is the constant fight between the main character Renart
(the Fox) and his principal adversary Ysangrin (the wolf).

Renart also has altercations with a slew of other animals including a bear; a dog;
a wild cat; a stag, a rooster and a hen.

In the end, Renart is judged in the court of the Lion King, named Noble.

As always, the cunning Renart escapes even his guilty verdict.
