TEXTBOOK: Chapter 3, pages 82 - 97.
OBJECTIVES:
Distinguish
between vector and scalar quantities.
Calculate
graphically the sum of two or more vectors giving both the magnitude and
direction of the resultant vector.
Recognize
that the order of vector addition does not matter.
Recognize
the independence of vector quantities.
Resolve
a vector into its perpendicular components.
Calculate
the sum of two or more given vectors by the method of trigonometric
resolution into components.
State
the requirements for equilibrium.
Perform
an experiment using a force table in which the resultant and equilibrant are
determined and verified experimentally.
