Book Cover.gif (5175 bytes)My recent book Dance Poland provides many geographical and historical details enhancing understanding of a contextual sense of Polish culture and dance folklore. Part I contains important information about Poland from a folkloric viewpoint. In the chapter "Dance Folklore" there is both historical perspective and a sense of present-day conditions. The second part of the book includes a description of 24 Polish folk dances. This part is divided into three sections in which dances reflect the degree of difficulty. We start with dances done by beginners, progress through some manageable by average performers, then move to several more challenging ones. Compact disc under the same title may be purchased separately and serve as accompaniment to the described dances.

The Polish folk dances which are represented by five "national dances," as well as hundreds of so-called "regional dances" sampling the vast and varied realm of Polish dance folklore. It is our desire that through the gracious Polonaise, lyrical Kujawiaks, fiery Mazur and vigorous polkas, one may discover the full imagination of the heart of a Pole.
