Fithchburg High and St. Peter-Marian had to travel
all to Keene, N.H. to face each other.The Red Raiders,
advanced to the championship game of the Elm City Holiday Festival with
an 85 - 43 win over Hollis-Brookline
Saturday.Fitchburg (4-0) will face St.Peter - Marian, a 64 -56 winner over
host Keene,in Sundays championship
game.
The raiders jumped out to a 13 -0 lead and didnt allow a point unitl 6:30
in the game. But at that point they were
well in command,taking a 37 -9 lead at half time.
The offense was led by the outside shooting of Gio Graciano and Mark Gabriel,
who had 15 and 12 points
respectively. On the defensive end,Jon Gauvin and Keith Leavitt combined
to hold Hollis-Brooklines 6-foot-6
Matt Clardy scoreless until the fianl eight minutes. Clardy finished with
four points. Gauvin added 11and Chris
Giannini 9 off the bench for the Raiders.

Led by the trio of Giovins Gracino, Jon Grauvin,
and Keith Leavitt ,Fitchburg crushed Conery (N.H) 85 - 43, in the opening
round of the Elm City Tournamnet, Played at Keene State College.
The Red Raiders (3-0),who were in control throughout,
held a 43 -18 half-time lead. Gracino, a juinor guard, hit four 3 - pointers,
while scoring 25 points. Gauvin scored 15 points and had nine re-bounds,while
reserve center Keith Leavitt hooped 14 points and had 13 re-bounds.
