Catholic Engaged Encounter (CEE), What It Is.

  •    Catholic Engaged Encounter (CEE) is an investment in your future as husband and wife. It is a weekend created for the two of you. On the weekend you will concentrate exclusively on each other, free of the tensions, pressures, and  interruptions of daily living.

The focus of CEE is on communication in your relationship. You will learn to use tools which will enrich your relationship through better communication with each other. You will have the opportunity to explore your
strengths and weaknesses as you listen to presentations and work through exercises as a couple. It is through communication that you will learn the true meaning of You and I (individuals) and We (coupleness).

A team, consisting of a priest, senior couple and junior couple, will present and guide the weekend. Their presentations include personal sharing of their marriages and family issues, and encourage you to come involved in your own period of discovery.

Catholic Engaged Encounter (CEE), What It Is Not.

  •    CEE is not a retreat...though many couples express a renewed spirit after attending the weekend. It is not a group dynamic session...though you will meet and enjoy other couples there. It is not to be taken lightly.

    Other Questions

Do We Have To Be Catholic?
  •  No, couples of all faiths are encouraged to take part as they prepare for marriage. Even though this is a Catholic sponsored program, couples of all faiths are welcome. The weekend usually has a mix of Catholic couples and interfaith couples. On occasion, there will be a situation where neither of the engaged couple will be Catholic.

When Should We Go On Our Weekend?

  •  Weekends fill up fast, so it's best to reserve your space early. It is recommended that you reserve your space eight to twelve months before your wedding.

Why Should We Go On a Weekend?

  •  An engaged couple should go on the weekend because they want their marriage to be the best it can be. Preparation is the key for a marriage to be the best it can be in today's society

If you were to lump all the time spent preparing for the wedding into a continuous string of days, you would find weeks, maybe even months of preparation. All that time spent for that one moment to say "I do" or "I will" and the party afterwards. Why??? Simply put, you want your Wedding Day to be the best it can be!

Ask yourself this question, "Am I willing to spend 45 hours devoted to learning skills that will help make my marriage the best it can be?"
