Defense against a right overhead club strike

  1. Step Drag to the right into a left Cat Stance while simultaneously doing a left Upward Block.
  2. Do a left front kick to attackers midsection.
  3. Do a right Side Kick to attackers right knee. As you land from the kick, do a right Back Knuckle to attackers face.

Mace Of Aggression
Defense against a two handed lapel grab and pull

  1. Pin attackers hands onto your chest with your left hand as your right foot steps to 11:00. At the same time, do a right raking Hammerfist (angled from 1:30 to 7:30) across attackers temple, nose and down onto their arms. This will draw attacker into you, so keep your back straight and your head upright.
  2. Right Inward Elbow to left side of attackers face.
  3. Release attackers hands as you do a right Side Elbow to attackers face.

Attacking Mace
Defense against a right straight punch

  1. Step back with your right foot while doing a left Inward Block, closing attackers center line. Right hand checks at waist.
  2. Open left hand and place on your right side by your face (guards your face) while simultaneously doing a right punch to attackers left solarplexes/armpit area.
  3. Slide your right hand down and around to the outside of the attackers right arm, grabbing their gi near their shoulder, and pull attacker into you while doing a Right Front Kick to their groin.
  4. Land from the kick just in front of attackers right knee and do a punch to the kidney area. Keep holding wrist of attackers punching arm.

Delayed Sword
Defense against a right punch

  1. Step back with your left foot while doing a right Inward Block and ending up in a right horse stance.
  2. Land a right front kick to the attacker's midsection and landing in a right guard stance with the right hand beside the left side of your head.
  3. Deliver a right outward sword to attacker's right side head/neck area leaving the sword extended.

Aggressive Twins
Defense against a two hand push to chest area with left foot lead

  1. Step back with your left foot while doing a right Inward Block and ending up in a right guard stance.
  2. Land a right side kick to the attacker's left knee ending in a right guard stance.
  3. Deliver a left front kick (stepping through) into the attacker's midsection ending up in a left guard stance.

Sword of Destruction
Defense against a left roundhouse punch

  1. Step back with your left foot while doing a right Extended Outward Block.
  2. From a cat stance, deliver a right front kick to the groin/midsection area.
  3. Deliver a right Inward Sword hand and return the hand to check.

Deflecting Hammer
Defense against a right front kick

  1. Standing with palms facing attacker and slighly in front of your face
  2. Step back with your left foot while doing a right downward block.
  3. Step forward with your right foot and check attackers right elbow against his body using your left hand while simultaneously chambering your right hand.
  4. Deliver a right inward elbow while dragging left foot forward.

Obscure Sword
Defense against a left hand grab on the back of right shoulder

  1. Trap attackers left hand with your left hand.
  2. Step left and forward with left foot while simultaneously positioning a right sword under left arm.
  3. Turn into right forward bow while delivering a right outward sword to attackers throat.
  4. Do a left front kick to attackers midsection and return into a right cat stance.

Grip Of Death
Defense against a left side headlock

  1. Step forward with right foot in front of attackers feet and position chin toward attackers body.
  2. Lower your body while simultaneously delivering a right inward sword to midsection and a left downward sword to attackers kidney/back area. Swords should be perpendicular.
  3. Leaving the left elbow on attackers back, reach over his right shoulder and grab chin/nose to pull head back.
  4. Turn into a left forward bow while delivering a right palm strike to attackers head.
  5. Do a right front kick to attackers midsection and return into a left cat stance.

Crossing Talons
Defense against right hand grap to right wrist

  1. Trap hand with left hand and circle right hand inside and around grabbing attackers wrist.
  2. Step inward with your left foot while trapping attackers arm (arm bar) against your body.
  3. Deliver a left outward elbow, rake attackers face upward, deliver an overhead elbow to attackerslower back.
  4. Deliver a left downward palm strike to the back of attackers head and hold hand there while delivering a right knee strike to attackers head.

Scraping Hoof
Defense against a full nelson

  1. Step outward with the left foot while simultaneously delivering a two handed strike over your head to attackers head.
  2. Drop into a horse stance with emphasis on thrusting your arms into the chambered position to break the full nelson.
  3. Step inward with the left foot while positioning your arms forward and downward to trap attackers arm. End in a right cat stance.
  4. Deliver a back kick with the right leg to attackers left knee and then deliver a downward kick to attackers right inside calf area. Continue the downward kick to break attackers ankle.

Five Swords
Defense against a right roundhouse punch

  1. Step inward with the right foot while blocking the punch with both arms postioned in front of your chest and head.
  2. Deliver a right outward sword to attackers neck followed with a left palm strike to attackers chin.
  3. Deliver a right uppercut punch to attackers midsection.
  4. Step backward with left foot and deliver a left outward sword to attackers neck followed with an inward downward sword to the back of the attackers neck.

Lone Kimono
Defense against a left hand lapel grab

  1. Trap hand with left hand while simulaneously stepping back with left foot and delivering an upward extended block to hyper-extend the left elbow
  2. Curl right hand around attackers arm and deliver a right downward hammer strike to attackers elbow/forearm area. Drop your body downward on the strike.
  3. Deliver an outward extended hand sword to attackers throat.

Triggered Salute
Defense against a right hand push to left shoulder

  1. With left hand, trap right hand against shoulder and step forward with the right foot delivering a palm heel strike to the attackers chin.
  2. Pull attackers arm downward with a hooked hand and chamber the right arm.
  3. Deliver a right inward elbow to midsection followed with a step drag right outward elbow to attackers side.
  4. Deliver a right backfist to kidney and chamber the right arm.
  5. Deliver a right upward back fist punch to attackers chin/nose.

Shielding Hammer
Defense against a left hook

  1. Step back with your left foot while doing a right Extended Outward Block.
  2. Right Hammer strike to the cheek/nose area.
  3. Deliver a right outward and downward elbow with a step drag forward.

Thrusting Salute
Defense against a right front kick

  1. Step back with right foot while simultaneously delivering a right downward inward block followed by a left downward block.
  2. Deliver a right front kick to the groin followed with a palm heal strike to the face.

Striking Serpent's Head
Defense against an attempted front bear hug / lunge

  1. Step back with right foot while simultaneously blocking face with right hand and delivering a left back knuckle fist to back of neck.
  2. Grab attackers hair or grab top of forehead area and pull back.
  3. Deliver a thrusting knuckle punch (not a closed fist) to attackers throat.

Locked Wing
Defense against right arm locked behind back and attackers left arm on left shoulder

  1. Step backwards with the left leg between attackers legs.
  2. Deliver a back elbow to attackers face ending in a reverse bow.
  3. Wrap left arm around attackers right arm (and possibly the left as well) and lock it tightly against your left side.
  4. Simultaneously return to a forward bow while driving your left arm forward and downward breaking the attackers right arm.
  5. Step 45 degrees backwards with the right leg and simultaneously deliver a right knee strike to attackers face and a right downward sword strike to back of the neck.

Repeated Devastation
Defense against a full nelson

  1. Step to the left with your left foot and sink into a horse stance while striking attackers face with fists over your head. Immediately crash your arms down to break the grip and pin attackers arms to your sides with your arms extended forward.
  2. Grab attackers right wrist with your left hand then step to 12:00 with your left foot. Extend your left arm as you turn clockwise to deliver a right side elbow to attackers face ending in a left reverse bow.
  3. Bring your left foot back into a horse stance while your right hand snakes under to grab attackers left wrist. Step to 12:00 with your right foot. Extend your right arm as you turn counterclockwise to deliver a left side elbow to attackers face ending in a right reverse bow.

Glancing Spear
Defense against a straight left wrist grab with their right hand

  1. While stepping back to 6:00 with your right foot into a right reverse bow, rotate your left wrist counter-clockwise as your right hand snakes under your left wrist and grabs attackers wrist. Pull attackers arms towards you as you pull down and across your midsection. Their left elbow should be against your right arm as the pressure will hyper-extend their elbow.
  2. Continue holding attackers right wrist with right hand as you do a left side elbow to attackers ribs.
  3. Left hand checks attackers right arm as right hand slaps attackers arm down and then follows into an eye poke.
  4. Sweep attackers right foot with your left foot then turn around and shoot your right foot back behind attackers right leg to take them down. Do a right downward front ball kick to attackers chest and cover out.

Reversing Mace
Defense against straight left punch

  1. From a right forward bow, step back to 5 o'clock while delivering a right inward block to attackers left punch.
  2. Parry left arm under and up into a left outward block and step drag forward delivering a downward back knuckle punch to attackers left rib/kidney area. End in a reverse bow.
  3. Deliver a downward right kick to attackers thigh/knee area driving attackers knee to the ground.
  4. Step through forward followed by a step through reverse into a left forward bow cat stance.

Swinging Pendulum
Defense against attacking right roundhouse kick

  1. From a right forward bow, step back to 5 o'clock while blocking kick with a right inward/left inward downward palm down block (forming a scissors).
  2. Step drag forward delivering a right downward hammer strike to attackers groin ending in a reverse bow.
  3. Step back with the left and deliver a right back upward elbow to attackers chin.

Crushing Hammer

  1. With the left hand trap attackers hands. Step to the left with the left foot while delivering a right downward hammer strike to attackers groin.
  2. Slide the right foot to the left and then behind the attacker while delivering a right palm heel strike to the attackers groin.
  3. Deliver a right back upward elbow to attackers chin.
  4. Turn body clockwise with the right hand in an outward extended block position while delevering a left palm heel strike to attackers body.

Twirling Wings
Defense against rear two-handed grab to upper back / collar area

  1. Step back with the left leg to the 5 o'clock position. Turn body counter-clockwise with the left arm in an outward blocking position and deliver a right inward elbow to attackers mid- section.
  2. Check attackers arms with a right inward sword while chambering the left arm.
  3. Step drag forward delivering a left inward elbow to attackers mid-section.

Leaping Crane
Defense against straight right punch

  1. Jump to the left while simultaneously doing a left inward checking block and a right middle knuckle punch to the underside of the arm. End with arms crossed and in a right cat stance.
  2. Deliver a right downward side kick to opponent's right knee driving him on to his knee. Land with right foot between opponent's legs.
  3. Deliver a right back knuckle to the left kidney.
  4. Deliver a right inward elbow to head using the left hand to sandwich the opposite side of attacker's head.

Buckling Branch
Defense against left front kick

  1. Step back and sideways with the right foot while simultaneously performing a right downward inward palm down block and a left downward block. (Opponent's back is now in position)
  2. Deliver a right scoop kick to groin.
  3. Deliver a left downward kick to attacker's right knee driving him to his knees.
  4. Cross left foot sideways past right, then right foot sideways past left, then left back into right guard stance.

Thrusting Prongs
Defense against front bear hug with arms locked

  1. Step back with right foot while simultaneously pushing closed fisted thumbs to inner thigh/groin to push body away.
  2. Trap attackers right arm against your shoulder using left arm in an upward check. At the same time deliver a right back elbow to break the hold of the attacker's left arm.
  3. Deliver a right knee to the groin followed by a right inward elbow to the head.

Evading The Storm
Defense against overhead club attack from in close

  1. Step forward and to the left with the left foot while doing a left/right parry and grab the attackers wrist with the right hand.
  2. Deliver a right front/roundhouse kick to midsection following with a left punch to the right kidney area.
  3. Drive a left knee to the back of attackers right thigh. Leap upward (3 times higher than attackers foot) and deliver a right downward knee strike to the attackers right achilles tendon.

Crashing Wings
Defense against rear bear hug with arms free

  1. Step to the right with the right foot while simultaneously delivering a double back elbow to attackers forearms.
  2. Step to the right with the left foot and then back (a figure 7) followed by a left outward elbow to the face ending in a right neutral bow.
  3. Reach up and around and under with the left arm to trap attackers right arm against your body. Deliver a right downward hammer fist to chest area ending in a right reverse bow.

Sleeper
Defense against straight right punch

  1. Step forward with the left foot while doing a left inward block.
  2. Do a right straight arm inward palm down strike to attackers left neck and grab behind the collar.
  3. Grab right wrist with the left hand with elbows extended outward to create a choke. Step in with the right foot behind and between the attackers feet. Draw attacker close and stoop down slightly.
  4. Step back and behind your right foot with your left foot. Turn counterclockwise driving your opponent to the ground. Maintain grip of attackers right arm.
  5. Drop a right knee to floating rib area and deliver a downward punch to the head.

Spiraling Twig
Defense against rear bear hug - arms free

  1. Step to the right with the right foot while delivering two knuckle strikes to back of attackers right hand.
  2. Use both hands to grap right hand and extend it towards the front right corner.
  3. With the left foot, step forward to the right corner and turn clockwise while stepping further towards the corner with the right foot. This leaves the attackers arm extended with a two handed wrist lock.
  4. Pull attacker towards you as you deliver a right front kick to the body. Pull the arm past your right side. After landing the kick drop your left arm to the top of the attackers right arm and deliver a rising right back knuckle to the head.

Cross of Destruction
Defense against a two handed rear choke

  1. Use your hands to trap attackers hands against the back of your neck. Step left with the left foot.
  2. Step to the left with the right foot and then back behind attacker. At the same time pull attackers hands over your head. The hands will have attackers arms crossed.
  3. Push arms to put pressure on the joint which should drive the attackers right foot forward.
  4. Deliver a right kick to attackers right knee and drive your right arm forward to cause attackers left arm to break. Be sure to maintain hold of the left arm when you drive your right hand forward.

Entangled Wing
Defense against a right handed figure-four wrist lock

  1. As the opponent starts to apply the figure lock, trap with your left hand as you step forward and deliver a right upward elbow.
  2. Grab attackers left wrist with your right hand and turn into a reverse bow as your right arm pulls attackers left elbow down, breaking it across the back of your right shoulder. At the same time, do a left rear elbow to attackers ribs.
  3. Grab attackers left wrist with your left hand and turn into a neutral bow as do a right outward elbow to attackers midsection.
  4. Circle your right hand up and under their left arm and force them down with your right forearm.

Circling Fans
Defense against a left/right combination

  1. Left foot back into a right cat stance while doing a right downward hooking parry to deflect left punch then a left downward hooking parry to deflect the right punch.
  2. Right front ball kick to groin and right rising backfist to the nose as you land from kick.
  3. Left foot front cross over followed by a left vertical thrust punch to the chest with a right hand in a downward check.
  4. Right knee to attackers inner right thigh and as you land, execute a raised horizontal thrust punch under attackers chin.
  5. Downward right hand backfist to the groin as you cross out.

Snaking Talon
Defense against a left/right combination

  1. Do an inward right parry on their left punch following with a figure 8 parry to the ouside of their right punch and grab at the wrist. Pull their right arm across and to your left as you deliver a right front kick to their groin. Your right foot lands in right cross over.
  2. Deliver a left rear scoop kick to their midsection followed by a back kick. Cross out.

Unwinding Pendulum
Defense against a right front kick and a following right punch

  1. From a right neutral bow, right legs moves back into a left front twist stance as you deliver a right deflecting downward block on the kick.
  2. As the right punch comes in, unwind clockwise into a forward bow as you deliver a left inward block on the right punch.
  3. Do a right front cross over sweeping their far left leg and deliver an upward groin shot with the right hand.
  4. Unwind counterclockwise and sweep their left leg with a back left leg sweep to knock them to the ground.
  5. Deliver a right downward ball kick to their chest and cross out.

Parting Wings
Defense against a two handed push to shoulders

  1. Step back with right foot while raising hands between attachers arms and parting with extended outward blocks. Check tops of arms with the left hand while delivering a palm up inward sword to the attackers left floating ribs.
  2. Deliver a left outward hand sword to the throat and chamber the right hand.
  3. Drive attackers arms down with a downward left palm and deliver a right vertical middle knuckle strike to the solar plexes.

Thundering Hammers
Defense against a straight right punch

  1. Step forward with the left foot while simultaneously delivering a left inward block and a palm down hammer strike to the mid-section.
  2. Step drag forward lifting your left arm and deliver a left downward hammer strike to the kidneys while checking the right arm using your right hand.
  3. Ride your left hand up toward attackers head and check his right arm and deliver a right hammer strike to the back of the neck in a reverse bow stance.

Brushing The Storm
Defense against a right flank club attack

  1. Step to 2:30 with your right foot while doing both a right heel palm to the face and a left inward parry on attackers right arm.
  2. Sink and deliver a right elbow to the ribs. Step behind as you deliver a right hand palm strike to the groin.
  3. Step back with the right foot into a left forward bow as you reach around their right thigh and grap it with your right hand as you simultaneously deliver a left elbow to their kidney.
  4. Do a left front scoop kick a right side kick to the back of their left knee and cross out.

Calming The Storm

  1. Step inward with the right foot while blocking the club strike with a left block and simulataneously deliver a right punch to the face.
  2. Check the club arm with your right hand while delivering a left punch to the face.
  3. Check the club arm with your left hand while delivering a right back fist to attackers right floating ribs.

Circling Wing
Defense against a two handed rear choke

  1. Step to two oclock with the left foot and pack your hands on your left side (right on top of left)
  2. Unwind clockwise raising your right arm up and over attackers arms and grab the left arm. Simultaneously deliver a left palm heal strike to the chin and a finger thrust to the eyes ending in a forward bow.
  3. Grap the right arm above the elbow with your left hand and deliver a right upward elbow to the chin ending in a neutral bow.
  4. Raise attackers right arm with you left grip and deliver a downward backward strike to the groin ending in a reverse bow.

Hooking Wings
Defense against an advancing bear hug

  1. Step back with the left foot while circling your hands inward and downward parting attackers arms.
  2. Deliver a front kick with the right foot and simultaneous deliver a right overhead hammer strike and a back fist with the right hand to the head.
  3. Step drag forward and deliver a right upward elbow followed by a right palm heel strike to the head and a downward claw across the eyes and face.

Desperate Falcons
Defense against a two handed wrist grab

  1. Step forward with your left foot into a left neutral bow while rotating your left hand counter clockwise and circling your right hand under your left, smashing attackers hands together, continuing the circle to the right and pulling attackers arms down and to the right.
  2. Do a left back knuckle to the right side of attackers face with a right vertical punch to the chest.
  3. Grab attackers right arm with your left hand and pin it against their body as you step forward with your right foot into a right neutral bow while doing a right inward and upward elbow to the right side of attachers face.
  4. Pull attackers right arm towards the right while doing a right downward hammerfist to attackers right kidney.
  5. Do a left step towards the right and thrust your right foot out to spread attackers left leg.
  6. Do a right front cross over and thrust your right knee into the inner thigh of their right leg.
  7. Cross out and return with a right rear kick to their groin.

Dominating Circles
Defense against a right hand grab on your right shoulder

  1. Lift your right foot up and circle it in towards your left foot and around to behind attackers right foot as you do a left inward parry followed by a right overhead elbow to attackers collarbone.
  2. Step back with the right foot as deliver a right heel palm to the face. Grab attackers right arm with your right hand as your left arm circles inward and upward extending into a left palm heel to the right side of their face.
  3. Their right arm is now hyperextended across your chest and as they raise the elbow circle around them as they spin counterclockwise and grap around their neck with your left arm. Pull them down to the ground in front of you and drop a left / right knee to their head and cross out.

Shield and Sword
Defense against a left front punch

  1. Step forward and to the right with the right foot while doing a left outward block. Right hand extended upward.
  2. Deliver a right downward sword hand to the back of the neck.
  3. Drive your left elbow to the left ribs to square up your opponent.
  4. Position your left hand in a "waiter" type check while stepping back and behind with the left foot and deliver a right hammer strike to the left kidney.
  5. Deliver a right roundhouse ball kick to the right kidney.
  6. Step through out of range.

Raking Mace
Defense against a two handed lapel grab and pull

  1. Trap attackers hands with your left hand as you step forward with the right foot while delivering a right uppercut to the mid-section.
  2. Deliver a left outward sword hand to the throat.
  3. Circle right hand up and deliver a right hammer fist to attackers face.
  4. Deliver a right outward hand sword to the throat following with a step drag forward and a left palm / right elbow sandwich.

Shield and Mace
Defense against a straight right punch

  1. Step forward and to the left while doing a left inward / right outward parry. With your right hand checking the right arm, deliver a left punch to the right kidney.
  2. Jump check with the left hand as you deliver a right downward backfist to attackers right kidney followed with a right upward palm heel strike to the chin.
  3. Continue with the right hand and jumpcheck with the left as you deliver an outward hand sword to attackers right knee.
  4. Deliver a right side kick to attackers left knee and step cross out of range.

Returning the Storm
Defense against a right overhead club followed by a right back club

  1. Step back with the left foot into a reverse bow avoiding the initial club strike.
  2. As the club passes by, step forward with the left foot in front of attacker and place both forearms in front of you to block the attacking backhand club hand.
  3. Grab the attackers right arm with your right hand and use your left forearm to brace upward to the back of their upper arm.
  4. Step back with the right foot as you transition into an armbar. Keep pressure applied as you drive them down.
  5. Deliver a right knee to the face.

Thrusting Wedge
Defense against a two handed front push

  1. Step forward with the right foot into a forward bow as you extend your arms forward in triangle shape (left palm behind right hand). The extended arms deliver the blow to the attackers face as he is stepping in.
  2. Thrust both hands downward to drive attackers arms down.
  3. With left hand checking attackers right arm, deliver a right upward elbow followed by a right palm heel claw strike.

Flashing Wings
Defense against a straight right punch

  1. Step forward and to the left while doing a left inward block. Step drag forward and deliver a right inward elbow to the ribs. Your right elbow follows through and extends across in front of you while your left hand maintains a check at your face level.
  2. Deliver a right rear elbow to the attacker's back just under the shoulder blade. Follow through with the elbow with a right outward hand sword strike.
  3. Continue clockwise into a wide kneel stance as you deliver a left downward inward sword strike to the back of the neck. Follow with a rising upward palm strike to the throat.

Retreating Pendulum
Defense against an advancing rear heel kick

  1. From a right guard stance, step back with the right foot while doing a left downward palm down block followed immediately by a right downward block to deflect the the kick.
  2. Deliver a right side kick to attackers left knee while simultaneously delivering a downward hammering strike to the back across the shoulders and neck.
  3. Deliver a right rear scoop kick to the groin followed by a right rear outward extended leg thrust to sweep the attackers right leg.

Tripping Arrow
Defense against a front bear hug with arms free

  1. Grab back of attackers right arm with your left hand while stepping to the left with the left foot. Simultaneously deliver a right downward elbow to the collar bone. Drive the elbow downward to create space between yourself and the attacker. Grab attackers throat with your right hand.
  2. With the right foot, step to the left and then behind the attacker. Twist counterclockwise into a forward bow using the left hand grab and right hand choke to drive the attacker to the ground. Maintain a hold of attackers right arm with your left hand.
  3. Grab attackers arm with your right hand and pull it up while driving a downward side kick to the head. Kick the arm on the way to crossing out.

Defying The Storm
Defense against a right roundhouse club strike to the head

  1. Step inward with the right foot while blocking the right club hand with both arms positioned in front of your chest and head.
  2. Grab arm (near wrist) with your left hand and with the right hand reach behind and pull their elbow inward to hyperextend it. Follow with a right inward elbow to the chest and a sideways upward elbow to the chin.
  3. Deliver a right back knuckle punch to the back of the neck. Grab the back of the neck and pull downward as you step backwards with the right foot.
  4. Deliver a right knee to the head followed by a right inward overhead elbow to the back of the shoulders.

Crossed Twigs
Defense against attacker holding your arms extended behind you

  1. Grab attackers wrists as you step towards two oclock with your left foot. Attacker will continue to resist.
  2. Twist clockwise delivering a right outward elbow. Continue the motion and throw attackers right arm to the right across your body. The attacker is positioned bent over with his head to the right.
  3. Deliver a right inward overhead elbow to the back. Position your left elbow on attackers back and beside your right elbow. Switch to a downward palm push with both hands as you deliver a left knee to the ribs.

Obscure Claws
Defense against a left hand grab on the back of right shoulder

  1. Step back to 5:30 with the right foot and deliver a right/left palm heel claw and rake to the face to bend them backwards.
  2. Right hand circles up and around attackers left arm. Lock their arm tight to yours with your arm elevated.
  3. Step through forward with right foot followed with the left foot as you bring attacker with you. Keep shoulders square to the direction of the steps.
  4. Deliver a right back knuckle to back of neck followed with a left palm to the body/face and a right forward middle knuckle to solar plexus.

Circling The Horizon
Defense against a right front punch

  1. Step to the left with left foot and deliver a left inward block.
  2. Step forward with the right foot as you deliver a rising backfist to the face with the right hand. Bring right hand downward slightly and deliver a right inward elbow to the midsection (step drag forward slightly).
  3. Drop down onto the left knee as you deliver a right hand outward sword to their right knee.
  4. Deliver a right leg sweep kick to the attackers right leg and deliver a right palm strike to their midsection as they are falling to their back.
  5. Deliver a right heel kick to their right side and a downward heel kick to the midsection.
  6. Step out.

Capturing The Storm
Defense against a right overhead club strike

  1. Step to 10:30 with the left foot as you do a high cross block with both hands (left hand closer to attacker).
  2. Turn clockwise as you grap their club hand wrists and pull their elbow down over your arm (at the bicep).
  3. Turn counterclockwise and swing club downward across their right knee and extend your hands upward. You are maintaining a hold of their hands the whole time. During the upward move remove the club from their hands.
  4. Step under and through with the right foot then with the left foot making sure to maintain a grip on their right arm.
  5. Deliver a downward club strike to the back of their right elbow followed by a strike to the back of their head.

Gripping Talon
Defense against a left hand grab to the right wrist

  1. Step in with the right foot while circling your left hand under and around to grab their wrist. Simultaneously deliver a downward hammer fist to the groin. Maintain the grip on their wrist with your left hand.
  2. Deliver a right inward elbow followed by a right outward elbow to the body.
  3. Deliver a right back fist punch to the midsection. Position your left foot slightly and deliver a right leg sweep to their left leg and deliver a right inward horizontal strike to their back to bend them over. Their head is to your left and their left leg is extended outward.
  4. Deliver a right knee to their chest followed by a downward right palm strike to their left elbow as you step though outward.

Circles Of Protection
Defense against a right overhead strike

  1. Step forward with the right foot as you block the strike with a right upward block. Follow with a left palm heel to the face.
  2. Circle the left arm counterclockwise (driving their right arm downward) and simultaneously circle the right arm clockwise with a palm heel strike to the groin.
  3. Grab at the groin and pull as you deliver a left backfist to the midsection. Your body rotates clockwise as you deliver the backfist.

Flashing Mace
Defense against a right punch

  1. Step forward and to the left with the left foot as you deliver a left inward block. Right hand is raised.
  2. Deliver a right hammer fist to the face as you step counterclockwise all the way around to 8 oclock with the right foot.
  3. Deliver a left backfist to the midsection. Strike with a downward right/left combination to drive their arms downward.
  4. Unwind clockwise as you deliver a right rising backknuckle to their face followed by a right back scoop kick to the groin.
  5. Cross out.

Destructive Twins
Defense against a front two handed choke

  1. Step forward with your right foot into a right neutral bow while simultaneously delivering a left overhead horizontal thrust punch to attackers face and a right underhand horizontal thrust punch to attackers groin.
  2. Move your right foot slightly to the right as your left arm comes into your chest to pin attackers right arm and your right hand does an inward block to collapse attackers left arm. Your arms are now horizontal.
  3. Unwind counterclockwise and deliver a left outward extended block followed by a left eye poke. Right hand goes to chamber. Deliver a right downward punch to attackers left hip area.
  4. Do a right upward heel palm to attackers left elbow to break it, then grab attackers wrist with right hand (still holding wrist with left hand) and do right side kick to ribs.

Wings Of Silk
Defense against a double elbow pin from behind

  1. Stomping on attackers left foot with your left foot followed by a right rear scoop kick to the groin to loosen attackers grip.
  2. Do a right rear obscure upward elbow to attackers chin. You've removed your right arm from attackers grip at this point.
  3. Step to 9:00 with your right foot (in very tight, just outside attackers left foot) and continue turning as your left foot comes around into a horse stance standing next to attacker. You are now both facing forward with the attackers left arm pinned on your chest by your left arm. Deliver a right uppercut to break their elbow.

Circling Destruction
Defense against a left step through punch

  1. Step forward and to the right with your right foot into a right neutral bow while doing a right inward parry and a left outward parry (that becomes grab). Continue circling the right inward parry into a right back knuckle to attackers ribs.
  2. Pin attackers right arm to your chest with your left hand while you do a right uppercut to break elbow. Follow immediately with a right back knuckle to attackers ribs.
  3. Slide your left foot behind your right into a left rear twist stance and place your right hand on their left shoulder.
  4. Hook attackers chin with your left hand and anchor your elbow (pulls attacker left and slightly backwards) as you unwind from the rear twist into a right neutral bow while doing a right inward hand sword to the right side of attackers neck.
  5. Hook attackers chin with your right hand and anchor your elbow (pulls attacker to the right and slightly backwards) as you do a right front scoop kick to attackers groin, landing forward in a right high wide kneel with a right inward elbow to attackers spine.

Conquering Shield
Defense against a left grab (pulling in)

  1. Pin attackers left hand against your shoulder as you do a right kick to the inside of attackers right knee or thigh and a right punch to attackers face. (If possible strike the back of their elbow as you deliver a punch towards their face).
  2. The punch continues up over attackers head folloing with a right downward elbow to attackers bicep, rebounding into an upward elbow to attackers face.
  3. Downward Heel Palm Claw to attackers face.

Gathering Clouds
Defense against a right punch

  1. Push drag to the left into a right cat stance while striking attackers right arm with a right fist and doing a left inward parry on attackers right arm.
  2. Step forward with your right leg into a right neutral bow checking attackers right leg while doing a right outward hand sword to attackers floating ribs. Your left hand continues to check attackers right arm.
  3. Bring your right leg forward slightly as you do a right inward elbow to attackers floating ribs. Your left hand continues to check attackers right arm.
  4. Do a right front scoop kick to attackers groin and cover out.

Twirling Sacrifice
Defense against a full nelson

  1. Step to the right with your right foot into a Horse Stance and immediately slide your left foot over to your right then back behind attackers right leg.
  2. Use both of your arms to grab the back of opponent's knees and lift attackers legs off the ground.
  3. Spin counter clockwise and drive attacker to the ground.

Blinding Sacrifice
Defense against an attempted two hand front choke

  1. Step forward with the right foot while thrusting both arms up and forward to break the choke and continuing into double eye pokes and continuing the circle outward, thrusting attackers hands down to their side and delivering a double inward back fist strikes to the kidneys.
  2. Cat back with the right foot then step and deliver a double eye pokes and continuing the circle outward, thrusting attackers hands down to their sides. Circle arms behind attackers head and into double back knuckles to attackers mastoids.
  3. Pull elbows in to sandwich attackers head, grab back of head and pull down into a right knee to attackers face.

Falling Falcon
Defense against a right hand grab to the left shoulder

  1. Step formward and to the left with your right foot into a right Neutral Bow, pin attackers hand against your chest with your left hand and do a right inward block to the right arm.
  2. Immediately turn counter clockwise into a left Forward Bow while maintaining the pin with your left and pushing with your right arm to take attacker down.
  3. Grab the back side of attackers right wrist with your right hand (releasing your left hand) and turn it clockwise (exposing the elbow) as you do a left heel palm to attackers elbow. Do a left knee to their elbow into a left Side Kick to the right side of attackers neck.
  4. Land your left foot back slightly as you grab the back side of attackers right wrist with your left hand (go under with the left hand) and turn it counter clockwise (exposing the elbow) as you do a right heel palm to attackers elbow.
  5. Do a right glancing knee strike to attackers elbow, allowing your shin to strike attackers arm/shoulder. Immediately drive your right leg back into a scraping heel kick to attackers kidney, up and down into a right front ball kick to attackers solar plexus.
  6. Kick attackers arm (at the elbow) to knock it out of your left hand, stomp on their hand and cover out.

Intellectual Departure
Defense against a right front ball kick

  1. Step back with your left foot as you turn backwards into a reverse bow while doing a right inward downward (palm down) block with right forearm on kick. Do a right rear kick to attackers groin before their kicking leg lands.
  2. As you land from the rear kick into a right neutral bow facing attacker, do a right back knuckle to attackers temple (if available.)
  3. Step drag forward and deliver a right side kick to attackers far leg (left), landing forward in a right neutral bow. Deliver a back knuckle to back of their neck.

Twirling Hammers
Defense against a straight left punch

  1. From a left neutral bow shift your left foot to 1:00 into a left front twist stance while doing a left upward block to deflect the punch.
  2. Step through with right foot while doing a right inward back knuckle to back of attackers head immediately followed by a left inward elbow to attackers left ribs as you slide your left foot towards your right to check attackers left knee.
  3. Bring your left hand up and out into a waiters check on the upper part of attackers left arm as you turn counter clockwise into attacker doing a right hammerfist to their left kidney.
  4. While stepping forward with the right foot and the left in a twist stance, deliver a rising right uppercut to break the elbow. Upon completion of the break, deliver a hammering downward fist to the midsection as you cover step out.

Pincher
Defense against a headlock from the right side

  1. Turn your head to your left to relieve the pressure while pulling down on their arm near your throat with your right hand.
  2. Reach behind their right leg and "pinch" the upper inner right thigh. This will loosen up their grip and transfer their weight to their left leg.
  3. With your left forearm, block upward to the back of their right arm while maintaining a grip of their right wrist. Your forearm forces their arm over your head into an armbar as you step forward with your left foot.
  4. Maintain downward pressure with your left forearm (using your lower body as an aid) on the back of their arm as you punch with your right hand to the side of their face.

Thrusting Lance
Defense against a straight right hand knive thrust to the midsection

  1. From a right Neutral Bow, slide your left foot back to 4:30 (getting your body out of the way) while doing a downward right hand back knuckle strike onto the forearm of attacker and grab onto attackers wrist with your right hand.
  2. Push drag forward into attacker doing a left underhand heel palm to attackers groin (grab and squeeze).
  3. While still maintaining your grab of attackers right arm, step back with your right foot into a left neutral bow as your left hand and right hand grab attackers right hand and rotate it clockwise.
  4. Do a left/right leg thrusting kick to attackers right chest landing forward into a right neutral bow. Allow your left hand to slide up to check attackers elbow as you do a rising back knuckle to attackers face followed by a downward back knuckle to the back of attackers neck.
  5. Grab the attackers right elbow with your right hand as you step through forward with the left foot and deliver a left hand inward block to their right ribs ending in a forward bow.
  6. Slide the right foot forward (even with your left) and rotate clockwise 90 degrees as you deliver a backwards sweep with the left foot to buckle them forward. Immediately deliver a right knee to their chest.

Prance of the Tiger
Defense against a right uppercut from the right corner

  1. Step back with the right foot as you deliver a left downward sweeping palm heel strike to attackers right arm, deflecting it to your left. Simultaneously deliver a right hand rising back knuckle strike to their chin. Cat in slightly with the left foot.
  2. With your left foot, deliver a side kick to attackers right shin as your right arm circles down and across your stomach to the left.
  3. With your right foot, deliver a side kick to attackers right shin as you do a right back knuckle to attackers face and cover out.

Dance of Darkness
Defense against right rear front kick followed by a right punch

  1. From a right neutral bow, right foot back into a left twist stance while doing a right deflecting downward block on the kick and a left inward parry on the punch and remains there as a check.
  2. As you step through with your right foot, do a right outward parry on attackers right elbow.
  3. While stepping through with our left foot, deliver a right heel palm claw across attackers face, continuing through attacker. You should end up facing attackers back with your left fist over your right fist and at your left side.
  4. Simultaneously deliver a right back knuckle to attackers left kidney along with a left vertical punch to attackers spine.
  5. Grab the back of attackers right shoulder with your left hand and do a right rising back fist to attackers face.
  6. Slap attackers right arm down with your right hand then return the right hand with a right finger poke to their left eye.
  7. Deliver a left sweep kick to the attackers right leg and deliver a left finger poke to their right eye.
  8. As your left foot lands, spin clockwise into a left forward bow and deliver a backwards sweep with your right leg to attackers right leg which drives them to the ground. Deliver a right foot downward ball kick to attackers chest and cover out.

Fatal Deviation
Defense against a right jab, left cross combination

  1. Step back to 6:00 with your left root into a right neutral bow while doing a right inward block on the right punch.
  2. Turn into a right forward bow while doing a right outward extended block (shuffling forward if necessary).
  3. Turn back into a right neutral bow as you do a right inward hand sword to the left side of attackers neck while checking at your midsection with your left hand.
  4. As you step forward with your left foot into a left front twist stance, slide your right hand down to check attackers arms while doing a left hand palm strike to the right side of attackers face.
  5. Deliver a right knee to the inside of attackers right thigh as you transition into a right neutral bow. As you land do a right inward elbow to the left side of attackers face. Immediately deliver a downward hammerfist to the groin with the right hand as you end in a right reverse bow.

Leap of Death
Defense against a right step through punch

  1. Step back with the right foot while doing a right outward parry to deflect the punch. Grap the right wrist with your right hand as you deliver a left upward heel palm to the right elbow followed by a left back knuckle to the ribs.
  2. Drive your left elbow up and behind their right arm and push down as you pull up on their wrist with your right hand. This will drop them, face first, to the ground.
  3. Leap onto attackers back, scraping your heels down the sides of attackers ribcage. Squat down into a wide kneel stance while doing a double heel palm strike to the back of attackers head, driving their face into the ground.
  4. As you wrap your hands around the front of attackers head and pull their head back, turn your knees in, into a closed kneel stance. Draw your right hand back as you grab attackers head with your left hand, and do a right inward hand sword to the bridge of the attackers nose.
  5. Position your left hand over attackers head and your right hand under attackers head as you twist their head. Drive your left knee into the middle of attackers back while doing a left palm heel to drive their head to the ground.
  6. Jump out to their right landing on your left foot while your right foot delivers a ball kick to attackers head. Cover out to your left.
