1955-57-Nighttime visits from angels
1960-I dream of a vast open field in the center of which is a giant white missle.
I place my hands on its smooth surface and walk around it awed by its size and apparent
power. Suddenly, I am jolted awake by a voice, Carl JungBeware the cosmic winds!"
The dream recurs for seven years.
1964-I am one of 16 kids selected nationwide for a special summer program at Princeton University. I return home in the fall mind opened, hair long.
1965-See Rolling Stones at Manning Bowl, Lynn, MA. Tear gas.
1965-See Dylan at Newport Festival. Appear in movie "Festival."
1965-High schol principal refuses to recommend me for admission to any college. Brandeis University accepts me in June. Parents much relieved.
1967-I take his advice. Turned on , I drop out.
1968-Back to Brandeis. Teachers Abe Maslow, James Fadiman, Dick Katz, Larry Rosenberg. Awakening under the tree outside the dining hall.
1969-Awarded four year fellowship to Cornell for graduate work. Refuse it. Go to live in New Hampshire Esalen-type community. Master T.T. Liang among the teachers.
1969-Woodstock. A birthday gift from my teacher, Cesareo. Appear in movie doing Tai-chi.
1968-1982-Group work with Cesareo.
1976-Licensed as a psychologist.
1982-Magic show appears at Reagan White House Easter egg roll.Secret service carries UZIs inside of bunny suits. Really.
1982-Leave magic show. Work with creative process.
1988-
1991-Study ethics at Harvard Divinity School
1992-start Jungian work with Pat Berry.
1992-Idea for "Bill and Al's Excellent Adventure" t-shirts. 15,000 sold during campaign.
1994-Book
contract signed with Basic Books. New book on psychology and psychotherapy with people living with chronic illness.
1995-Sheila goes to graduate school at Pacifica Graduate Institute to study depth psychology.
1996-The Psychology of Chronic Illness : The Healing Work of Patients, Therapists, and Families to be published in Fall. What next?
Daniel to bike cross country in summer.
