Adult Activities at First Parish

There are a variety of programs for adults, and families, throughout the year; groups, social events and discussions.

Women's Groups (click here for more information)

The Women's Alliance (daytime) and Unity Club (evening) meet regularly throughout the Church year. The Alliance sponsors and leads out annual Snow Flake Fair Our fairs are an enormous boost to getting to know each other. And when the day is done - yes many of us are tired - but the camraderie made it more than just worth the effort. There is no better way to "get acquainted"! And the money we raise takes a lot of strain off budgets!

Religious Education and Activities

Film Discussion Group

On Thursdays during the Spring season, we view and discuss major films with spiritual significance in the Sloop Room at the church. The discussions are led by Richard Stower, our minister. The viewing begins at 7:30.

Social programs

family affairs

Several Saturday evening social events are presented at the church, often with a pot luck dinner. The dinners occasionally have a theme such as Mexican Night, Octoberfest (at which homebrewers in the church have shared the fruits of their efforts). This year we have featured inter-generational game nights in conjunction with our dinners. An annual Yankee Auction features items contributed by members of the church and the community; it also serves as a fund-raiser for the church.

The parish participates in the monthly program of cluster dinners hosted by UU churches on the South Shore. These dinners are followed by lectures on a variety of topics. For more information, call the church.
