Menuhin, the musical messenger of world peace, gives a magnificent private concert for His Holiness Pope John Paul II in beautiful Castelgandolfo, the Pope's summer residence. Afterwards , the Pope exchanges candid views with Menuhin, and speaks with the musicians and audience. Program includes Vivaldi's Concerto in D and "La Caccia" Concerto, Bach's "Erbarme Dich, mein Gott" Aria, and Mozart's Adagio for Violin and Orchestra. Filmed in 1983 with The Polish Chamber Orchestra conducted by Jerzy Maksymiuk. Another virtuoso performance by Menuhin, who was chosen to host, perform and conduct the 40th Anniversary Celebration concert for the United Nations in New York.
